Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information

Imagine getting an updated route each time a traffic jam is reported, well don't think too long as its already here by Mio. The C520t has the TMC capabilities built in to the power cradle supplied. When you are out and travelling with the Mio, whenever a traffic jam is picked up and is on the route you plotted, then it will re-direct you around the jam and back on to the original route. The actual TMC data is broadcasted by radio stations throughout Europe and the data syncs with the Tele Atlas maps installed on your Mio.

In most European countries TMC information is provided free of charge.

Split-screen intelligence at your fingertips

Since the Mio C520t features a widescreen, it has the intelligence to let you view the full map and also have route information at the side.

Since there is a large screen featuring on the device, it will mean that you will no longer have to quit navigation to view the POIs, it will be displayed on screen.

Mio can take you to 22 countries

Aimed at personal navigation, Mio will give you the confidence to discover new places with the pre-instaled 22 countries in 16 languages supplied by Tele Atlas.

As in previous units, you would have had to change maps each time you were entering a country. Mio has an integrated cross border navigation feature which will just let you plan your trip and you won't have to change maps when you enter a new country.

Safety camera warnings free for 1 year

Since speeding is becoming more and more of a problem, there are more speed cameras and traps set up. This new Mio range has the ability to locate likely speed camera locations.

Each new Mio device includes a free safety camera update from the Mio site for a full year if you register your product.

Within the settings of the software, you can set it up so that it can give you warnings by audio or visual.The split screen can also be set up so that it shows a lists of locations on your route.

As Satellite Navigation is getting more and more popular, they have made it easier for the beginners get to grips with the whole interface. If you find a location which you would like to save for a later date (e.g. new work place, family park etc.), then you can just tap the screen to add new location and just enter in the relevant details.

Essential local knowledge with Points Of Interest

Don't you just love it when your in-control wherever you go.

Mio gives you this with comprehensive built-in local Points of Interest: restaurants, petrol stations, hospitals,.

With the unique POI system the Mio C520t features, you will be able to filter some POIs from others. The split screen will show you the nearest petrol stations or parking, cash machines or supermarkets, hotels or restaurants.

To make a things a whole lot hotter, the POIs now come with phone numbers so if you were looking for a hotel, you could call ahead and make a reservations

Up and running in seconds with fast, accurate positioning form SiRFstarIII GPS technology

As built into most units these days, the C520t includes a Sirf Star 3 chipset which will find a fix and re-calculate journeys a whole lot faster than previous receivers.

As GPS chipsets are becoming more and more sophisticated, the Sirf 3 chipset can get signals from up to 20 satellites meaning more of an accurate location will be displayed.

Detachable power cradle

Ever have the problem when you're using a device and the battery dies right the moment its needed most. Well don't worry with the Mio device as it comes with a powered cradle so just place it in and it will charge while in use.

Used in conjunction with the windshield mount supplied, the Mio will sit very still preventing any vibrations to make it bounce about.

MP3-player and photo-viewer

When it's time for a break, you can chill out with the Mio by playing your favourite MP3 music and display photo images you may have taken while on your journey.

As the main purpose of the Mio C520t is the navigation part, it offers alot more. The SD/MMC memory card slot allows you to insert memory cards with your music stored by yourself or images.
