Speed
Camera warnings are a key feature of the Nav-Cam. The unit provides
advanced warning (on approach) of the six types of speed cameras
used in the UK (Gatso, Truvelo, Mobile, Temporary, Specs and Redlight).
The
speed camera warnings are visual, audible and directional (for fixed
camera types) – which means that you won’t get false
alarms of cameras that are not pointing in your direction of travel.
The
intelligent warning system constantly monitors your speed, so if
on approach to a camera location you are under the speed limit,
you will receive a gentle ‘pinging’ noise to alert you
to the camera ahead and an icon will be displayed on the map. Should
you happen to be over the speed limit on approach to the camera,
you will be given a clear verbal warning of the camera type and
a full screen visual warning telling you the correct speed limit,
distance to the camera and the camera bearing. As you slow to the
correct limit, the verbal warning will stop and the gentle 'pinging'
warning will return.
