| The RDS TMC adapter is a FM
receiver with RDS/TMC ability. The FM9 extends mobile navigation systems
with integrated GPS receivers adding RDS/TMC functionality. With help of
the FM9, the received traffic messages are then directed to the navigation
software, allowing calculation of an alternative route to avoid traffic
jams.
The Traffic Message Channel, also known
as TMC, is a specific application of the FM Radio Data System that delivers
real-time traffic and travel information to drivers. With a TMC-enabled
navigation system, the driver can be notified of problems on the planned
route and at the same time, TMC will calculate and provide an alternative
route to help the driver avoid the incident.
TMC is highly accepted by users due to
the advantages it provides:

TMC will also work in UK as long as you have a licence to use the service.
