Mobile Connectivity Wherever You Are
Flexible Connectivity The MBM621 supports standards-based HSDPA wireless networks around the world. Integrated into the unit is an HSDPA module and SIM card. It’s easy, just plug into power and the modem will connect to your mobile operator’s high-speed wireless network. Imagine being able to connect to the Internet at broadband speeds wirelessly from anywhere there is 3G coverage. An ideal solution for home and small business CPE deployments.
Easy to Install and Use The MBM621 provides auto-sensing, which is an Auto Uplink 10/100 LAN Ethernet port that can connect directly to a computer, wireless router or switch, without the need for crossover cables. HSDPA AirLink supports up to a 7.2 Mbps connection rate with receive diversity and equalizer, enabling service providers to deliver a true broadband experience wirelessly.
The Wireless modem is Sim Free and Unlocked. Sim Free means that the device will be supplied to you as it is, no sim card is included. Unlocked means that the device can be used with any mobile phone network e.g. Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile etc. |

| When will this router be used? |
Scenario 1 You're a company who relies on your internet connectivity to do business (pretty much all businesses these days, if only for email) and so need a backup in case your main ADSL goes down. There's no point getting another ADSL line - after all, it'll only come from the same exchange anyway. With the MBM621 you can insulate your business from this point of failure as the cellular network is independant. Perhaps get a new contract or pay-as-you-go data SIM card for the MBM621 and if and when your ADSL line fails, your DGFV338, FVX538 or FVS336G router will automatically fail over to the MBM621, maintaining your connectivity during the outage. If ADSL failures are rare and you don't want a SIM dedicated to the MBM621, you can just pop the one out of your phone during the outage and put it in the MBM621.
Scenario 2 Perhaps you live somewhere where cable hasn't be installed, and are pretty far from a telephone exchange meaning that even if you can get ADSL, it can barely be called broadband. Most areas are served by 3G and even HSDPA service now, and if you do have HSDPA where you are, you could potentially get over 7Mbps broadband with no phone line or cable modem needed. Add an unlimited data plan from your choice of service provider, and you have a wired broadband replacement. Just hook up the MBM621 directly to your PC, or connect it to a WGR614, WPN824, WNR834B or similar to get full wireless home broadband!
Scenario 3 You are on the road, perhaps going to do a technology show somewhere. Internet connectivity is outrageously expensive at these kinds of things but they know you need it for your email and to show customers your web site and so on. Why not just get an MBM621 and take it with you? Instead of paying hundreds of pounds a day to get basic and limited connectivity, invest in one of these units with a decent data plan on your phone contract or a seperate pay-as-you-go SIM card and use the MBM621 to save you money right off the bat, not just in the long term. Perhaps add an FVG318 and provide complimentary wireless access to people at your booth.
