This is a compact size wireless card for the PDA and other mobile computing device. When connected to a WLAN, the card is typically in listening mode almost the time except the short period of packet being transmitted and received. That means your battery life will be maximized. The card works with a lot of wireless LAN security protocols. Open, 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryptions are supported.
The card itself is installed into any Windows Mobile device with a SDIO slot. The drivers are installed via ActiveSync from your PC, enabling the card once it is inserted into the SDIO slot of your device. The onscreen instructions are easy to follow with the installation of the driver only taking a two mouse clicks. Further, on the setup CD, Just Mobile has included a users guide (in PDF format) in various languages to guide you step-by-step through the installation process.
Once the drivers are installed and the card is inserted into your Windows Mobile device, the setup to get your device WiFi enabled is amazingly simple and straight forward. One of the big advantages to the Just Mobile card is its size. It protudes only 5mm from the top of the device, making it far less likely to get bumped or damaged through every day use.
Because Just Mobile has done an outstanding job of writing the driver and allow the native Windows Mobile wireless applet to access it, there is virtually no configuration required out-of-the-box for most users. When your Windows Mobile device is turned on with the card installed, it will automatically detect the closest wireless network available (based on signal strength) and prompt you to either connect or dismiss the notification. Additionally, the card automatically detects if the network you are connecting to is secured with WEP, WPA or WPA2 and will prompt you for the key or password to connect to the network.
